I took Mamaw and Papaw some soup today. I figured they were tired of Christmas leftovers.

Papaw- You didn’t go to church today did you? No way you did and had time to cook soup for us.

Me- Yes I did go to church. I had the soup already cooked.

Papaw- Did you hear a good sermon? What did Bro. Jarrod Pettit preach about?

Me- He preached about God.

Papaw- (laughing) What was the verse?

Me- In the beginning was the word. And the word was with God and was God.

Papaw- Where did you learn that verse?

Me - Doesn’t the Bible tell us to hide the word in our hearts so that I might not sin against God?

Papaw- Bring soup tomorrow and let’s talk more scripture. I knew you were smart but I didn’t know you were wise!

Me- I seek wisdom from you Papaw.

Papaw- But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
